We have been to Maui on a couple of occasions for vacation. Both my wife Bonnie and I fell in love with it almost immediately. The weather is always perfect in temperature and it rains at least once a day for 5 minutes or a few hours somewhere on the Island. Our first trip to Maui was in 2011. Our flight arrived and it was dark outside. We found our rental car and started our trip to Lahaina. It was quite dark outside and the roads where very twisting and turning. After about 45 minutes we arrived in Lahaina. We were unsure exactly where our resort was and the GPS on our phone didn’t take us to the resort we booked. We went to a gas station that was close by and the attendant gave us accurate directions to the Royal Lahaina Resort. We entered the beautiful lobby area and registered with ease. We found our ocean front room and settled in. While we could not see the ocean due to the dark, we could certainly hear it. We grabbed a quick bite through room service and then went to bed.

The Next morning we awoke to the sunshine and the sound of crashing waves, I stepped out onto our 7th floor patio and was stunned at the incredible view of the bluest ocean the wide band of sand and the palm trees swaying in the breeze.

I immediately went to find the onsite coffee shop. I found it on the property and was treated to the best tasting Kona coffee I had ever had!! I returned with Coffee in hand and Bonnie was up and around and ready to start our day.

Our first stop was to find breakfast in one of the resort restaurants. After a great breakfast of bacon and eggs it was time to explore the property.
